Field Day-Everyday Heroes

Friday June 15th is Field Day celebrating our Everyday Heroes!  Parents are invited to watch our parade and roll call from at 8:30 am to 9:15 am. All parent volunteers will need to sign in at the office.  

Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day Parade
is on Wednesday May 30th starts at 6:00 pm. All Hot Shot Jumpers meet at the town library at 5:30 pm. Wear your gray "Hot Shots" T-shirt, black shorts or sweats, sneakers and bring your jumprope and water bottle. **Parents please sign your child in when you drop them off and sign them out when you pick them up**

Fifth Grade Graduation

Fifth Grade Graduation is on June 20th from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm (Doors open at 1:15 pm).  Following the ceremony parent's are invited to attend a celebration in their child's classroom. Student's are expected to be in school the following day on Thursday June 21st and will have a final classroom celebration with a pizza party. Congratulations to our fifth grade students!

Mark your calendars! Our last day of school will be on Thursday June 21, 2018. It is a half day with first bell ringing at 11:55 am.

Bike Safety -To and From School

As a reminder now that spring is here all students that want to ride their bikes to and from school has to have a written permission slip signed by their parents and Mr Pine. The forms are available in the office and also attached below. Helmets must be worn at all times. Students riding their bikes will be dismissed on the 3rd bell.

April 11th Parent's Information Night for Kindergarten Registration

 Dear Families of Incoming Kindergarteners,

We hope our process for getting you acquainted with the Kindergarten program is both comforting and informative. This letter outlines this process, including timelines, to-do’s, and forms to fill out. The best way to stay apprised of information is to share with us your email address, if you have not already.

We will be holding our Kindergarten Information Night on Wednesday, April 11th at 6:30pm in the NES cafeteria. This meeting will let you get to know a little about our program and provide you the opportunity to meet our teachers. It will also let us get started on some of the paperwork and details needed to enroll in the district. We request that this meeting be attended by parents/guardians only please.

We will be holding our Kindergarten screening day on Friday, May 18th. This day is designed to help us provide a program that best meets each student’s needs and to create academically balanced classes. Each student will be assigned a time to participate in an hour-long screening program hosted by our teachers and specialists. More information about specifics will be shared when it becomes available.

  For the evening of April 11th, please fill out:

  1. Registration form
  2. Exchange of information form (list pre-school or others we may need to contact).

Also on April 11th, please bring:

  1. A copy of your child’s birth certificate
  2. Immunization record
  3. Proof of residency

 If you are unable to attend on the 11th, please bring these materials to the school by June 4, 2018, so we can be prepared for school in the fall. If your child is already enrolled in our preschool, we will only need an update on immunizations.

 A complete medical examination, by a licensed physician, is required within 12 months of entry to public school (form is enclosed). The immunizations listed on the medical form must be completed prior to school entry. (This completed form is due at school no later than August 62018). We cannot give students a class assignment without proof of up-to-date immunization status.

 Enclosed is a Kindergarten placement form for your input. This will provide us information that, along with your child’s screening information will help us place your child in a classroom.

 We look forward to meeting you and your child. Your child will be in great hands and will have a wonderful Kindergarten experience at Newmarket Elementary School.
