Mon. Oct. 29th School Picture Retake Day

posted Oct 22, 2018, 10:22 AM by Brenda Collins   [ updated Oct 25, 2018, 6:06 AM ]

Picture Retake Day at Newmarket Elementary School has been rescheduled to: Monday, October 29th (Students must bring in their original pictures in order to get a new a picture taken.) Pictures will also be taken of students in preschool and any student that was absent for the first picture day.

**Important message from Geskus**
On picture day, we arrive with a set of pre-printed QR-barcode camera cards, but on retake day we do not. For each student wanting a retake who ordered pictures…
Please have the student bring their original photo package to retake day.

This package serves two purposes:
1. It will have their unique QR-barcode pre-printed on it, so we will be able to identify the student.
2. It will include their original printed order which we will use as a guideline for what to replace.

For each student wanting a retake who did not order pictures -OR- who ordered online…
Students should bring their empty cover folder with them to retake day. Even if no order was placed, we still use this cover folder as it has the student’s unique QR-barcode on it already, so we will be able to identify them. If a parent ordered online, we will need the cover folder for the same unique QR-barcode purposes.

For new or absent students and staff members, for students who forgot to bring their cover folder with them to retake day, or for students and staff members needing an ID or wanting a retake for ID or Yearbook Purposes… Geskus will fill out a blank or ‘generic’ QR-barcode card. This will ensure accuracy as it will be a new data set for our system.

Students do not need to order for a retake. You cannot pre-order a retake day image or package. After a student has a retake picture, they will receive a new cover folder. This cover folder will have re-ordering information provided and a new unique shootkey which parents can use to order online. Keep in mind that if a student comes to retake day with their original cover folder and picture package, a replacement order will automatically be processed. Retake orders and cover folders arrive to the school within 4 weeks of retake day.

Parent Information Night(Parent's only)

posted Sep 14, 2018, 12:59 PM by Brenda Collins

We will be holding two Parent Information Nights this school year. The Parent Information night for grades k-2 will be held on Tuesday, September 18th. . Grades 3-5 information night will be held on Wednesday, September 19th. The start time for both of these events is 6:30. Each evening will be broken down into two informational sessions one from 6:30 to 6:55pm and the other from 7:00 to 7:30 pm. These informational session are geared towards parents, as such we request that your child does not accompany you to this event.

The purpose of Parent Information Night is to provide parents an opportunity to meet their child’s classroom teacher, learn about classroom expectations and have a brief overview of the curriculum that will be covered in the class during the school year.   Please keep in mind this is not an appropriate time for an individual conference with your child’s teacher.  If you have a concern or specific question, please email the teacher or call the school to contact the teacher for a private conversation.

As a reminder, parking at the school is very limited this year. Please carpool with a neighbor if possible.

Thank you,

Sean Pine
